About Sforno Pizzeria Napoletana
100% pizza. 100% Italian. Sforno brings Naples to San Francisco with a 200 years old wood-fired oven with pizzas, panozzi (oven baked panini), and classic street pizza a portafoglio, all cooked to order. The menu moves from timeless Neapolitan classics to bold, ingredient-driven pies β including vegan options β built on San Marzano tomatoes from Salento, parmigiano reggiano, prosciutto and EVO olive oil, with produce sourced from local farms in Napa and Sonoma. Finish with Sicilian pistachios and chocolate pizzas, Sicilian citrus, or our gluten-free Caprese cakes. The space is warm and casual, centered around a traditional wood-burning oven β fast, unfussy, and made for sharing.

Probably the most authentic Italian style pizza you can find in the city. The lady in the kitchen helped me find the bathroom and she had a thick Italian accent so Iβm assuming sheβs the βNonnaβ of the place. The highlight was the dough, textbook Neapolitan. The wallet pizza for $9.50 was our favorite, and the popular Spicy Trouble was also solid. Probably a 5 star spot for those that prefer Neapolitan style + mild toppings and sauce (I prefer NY style so giving it a 4 star). Highly recommend nonetheless. Parking is really tough as itβs in the center of Hayes Valley FYI.

The best pizza around! Small store and long line of people out on Octavia Street. Staff work nonstop and seamlessly together to make those soft and chewy pizzas.

I was waiting for the hype to die down a bit before trying Sforno, and I'm glad I finally did because it absolutely did not disappoint. I placed my pizza order online for pickup right when they opened, and when I arrived there was no line, though that could definitely be day and time dependent since I went on a weeknight. They had blocked the Pizza Portafoglio from online ordering, but it was easy enough to add on in person, which was well worth it. This is very much a grab-and-go spot, with only a handful of 2-tops available, but there are a ton of outdoor seating options nearby, including the various bars that are all outside food friendly as well as Patricia Green just across Hayes, which makes it easy to enjoy your meal with a drink and/or soak in the weather. In a city full of fantastic pizza options, I genuinely thought the pizza here was outstanding. The crust is airy and chewy with charred spots throughout, and while the undercarriage is not super sturdy, I think that is a feature, not a bug for Neapolitan-style pizza as it tends to have that signature "flop". That especially works for the Pizza Portafoglio, which is folded over twice and makes for the perfect compact bit

Had to try a neopolitan style pizza while in SF, and came across this hidden gem! The inside is quaint with only a few tables, but the staff were all lovely. I got a margherita pizza to go. It was soft, puffy and chewy. It was probably the freshest pizza Iβve ever had. I wish there was a tad more flavor to it, and more basil wouldβve been great. It was very solid but missing that wow factor. If I come back I would definitely get a specialty pie! Still a great spot to hit.

GREAT pizza! Nice sauce, just the right amount of cheese, lovely crust, fresh basil⦠and at a price so low it seems like a mistake. We will absolutely be back!
